Banana flower is a crimson flower in the form of a drop that hangs on the quit of many bananas. The difficult maroon petals surrounding the flora are known as bracts and want to be removed and discarded. They are inedible. The light yellow rosette enclosed in the bracts can dice and eaten uncooked in salads or cooked in curries.
